1. Characteristics of glass materials

2. Classification of glass materials
Glass materials can be divided into two categories: glass sheets and glass blocks. According to its safety performance, glass plates can be divided into ordinary glass, coated glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, etc., which are used in different parts of home decoration, and the country has strict standards. From the perspective of decorative effect, it can be divided into flat glass, patterned glass, frosted glass, engraved (printed) patterned glass, etc., which can be selected according to the requirements of different decorative effects. Glass bricks are mainly used in glass partitions, glass curtain walls and other projects. They are mainly hollow glass bricks, which can be divided into single cavity and double cavity, and have various specifications, such as square bricks and rectangular bricks. The surface shapes are also very rich, and can be used according to decoration requirements. .
3. Quality identification of glass materials
The quality of the glass sheet is mainly checked by visual inspection for flatness. The surface should be free from defects such as bubbles, inclusions, scratches, lines and fog spots. The quality inspection of glass processing products, in addition to the inspection according to the requirements of the glass plate, should also check the processing quality, pay attention to the standard size of the inspection, the processing accuracy and the clarity of the drawing meet the requirements, whether the edge grinding is smooth, and whether there is incompleteness.
The appearance quality of the hollow glass bricks does not allow cracks, no opaque unmelted materials are allowed in the glass body, and the welding and bonding between the two glass bodies are not tight. The visual inspection of the brick body should not have wave quality standards, there is no warping and notches on the surface, such as nicks and burrs, and the corners should be square.
Glass material is a highly fragile decorative material. Protective measures must be taken during transportation and storage to ensure its quality. When the boards are shipped in batches, they should be packed in wooden boxes, equipped with shock absorption and decompression protection measures. When transporting a monocoque, check its sturdiness and include shock-absorbing and pressure-relief pads. Glass blocks should be packed in corrugated boxes and should be handled with care. Throwing and squeezing are strictly prohibited. Glass plates should be stored vertically, and glass bricks must not be stored beyond their load-bearing capacity.
4. Installation method of glass material
When installing glass panels, there should be wood, aluminum, stainless steel and plastic frames. The specifications of the glass should be consistent with the frame, and the size should be 1~2mm smaller than the frame to ensure the smooth setting of the glass plate. In the frame, knocking is strictly prohibited during installation, and it should be sealed in time after installation.
The installation of glass bricks usually adopts the glue method, and the large-area wall uses grooved metal profiles as the fixed frame. Partial low partition walls in home decoration generally do not require metal frames, and glass bricks can be used in the form of single blocks. When laying bricks, attention should be paid to reserve expansion joints according to the size of the bricks. Cushioning and sealing materials should be filled between the glass blocks and the structure. After installation, the surface of the wall should be straight and free of unevenness, and waterproof glue should be applied in the grooves.
